Gryouts are created from gene therapy from the best traits of numerous species. Including wolves, wolverines, and cats, and bears. But the most distinct feature about them is their relationship to the Mestelidei, a primitive race that dwells within the northern climates of the world.
These animals have been manipulated through gene therapy to give them the best traits of the animals, and as such, have created an animal that can be of service value.

Some Gryouts can be trained as scouts, while others can be trained as guards for POW camps. Others are trained to be hunters. Possessing a highly diverse social stature, these animals bond with their masters at extroadinary levels, and are highly sophistocated when it comes to intelligence.
Gryouts are massive, and can tower over nine feet tall when standing on their hind legs. Their claws are powerful enough to be driven through concrete walls, which allows them to cling to the sides of buildings to evade, and ambush their prey. It has been proven that their claws can easily cut through steel, as such, it is their primary weapon for self defense, and hunting purposes. Their fangs can be used to cause mortal damage on almost any prey, and can tear a rhinosaurs to pieces in seconds.
It is believed that their strength comes from adrenaline, as such, the angrier and more pumped the become, the stronger they get. When the animal is at it's peek, it can go into a phase that is commonly known as the Bezerker, and can be plainly noted is their highly adapted evasion techniques.
The flesh of a Gryout is heavily layered, and protected by an oil that is secreted by their pores naturally, this oil is absorbed by the flesh, and thus protects it, keeps it waterproof, and also acts as an acid that can quickly breakdown viruses and pathogens before they enter the blood stream, however it possess a unique and unpleasant odor.

Gryouts are usually bred in high security encampments on military bases throughout the word, military personal are strictly briefed when handeling Gryouts, and as such, wear the appropriate equipment when handling them. Gryouts can be loving and bonding creatures, however, since the econmy crashed in Belka, the welfare of these animals was placed as a luxury, and as such, -not needed. Thus their living environments changed dramatically. From wide open kennals, to cramped cages lined in rows. This had a dramatic change on the animal's overall physc, producing a far more aggressive nature within the animals.

Unlike most animals, Gryouts are highly adaptive creatures, they can be a viscious monster one phase of their life, but turned into the complete and exact opposite when treated with the plummit of affection and love. As such, many of their handlers are encouraged to bond with the animal, and take care of them in their barracks.

The military saw the advantages of these animals and began to harvest them into infantry battalions to be unleashed as scouts. as such, they have opened an all new chapter in mordern warfare.

These animals were noted to have a very overpowering sex drive which can change their behavior. Though the neutering of these animals is highly disencouraged, as the lack of testosterone generates laziness in these animals, it has been noted that since they come from a highly competitive species, that they will stop at nothing to mate and pass on their genes. Unlike most animals, the female is not in charge during mating, and can be mated four times a year (females go into heat every three months). A young Gryout is often called a kit in it's youth years, and must be treated with care, only once they reach adolesence, can they be placed with the other gryouts. Being mammals, kits are born live from their mother's womb, and are delivered in an ambiodic sac-like membrane. The delivering mother will often eat the sac, and lick the kit clean, and with the assistance of a breeder, the umbilical cord is clamped, and the cut by trained professionals. For the first three weeks, they feed strictly off of a nutrient enriched milk until their teeth and fangs begin to develope. Only then, will the mother wean them off her milk and begine to feed them regurgitated meat.
Maturity begines at rougly one year, the same time as sexual maturity begines to arouse. It's at this time that female gryout begin to experience their first estrous cycle. Being diestrous, they reabsorb the corpus luteum in the absence of pregnancy to be used in the next cycle. Males can engage in sexual activity at any time after maturity has been reached.

Gryouts are omnivores, but heavily rely on meat for protein. As such, they require vast amounts of vegetables in their diets. A Gryout can consume about three-to-four pounds of food a day, and eat often to maintain their energy.
